Karima
Kourtit
is
a
highly
accomplished
and
internationally
recognized
academic,
with
significant
contributions
to
the
fields
of
urban
and
regional
development
sciences,
currently
serving
as
an
Assistant
Professor
at
the
prestigious
Open
University
in
the
Netherlands.
With
dual
PhD
degrees
in
Spatial
Economics
from
VU
University
in
Amsterdam
and
Socio-Economic
Geography
(with
distinction)
from
Adam
Mickiewicz
University
of
Poznan,
Karima
Kourtit
possesses
an
interdisciplinary
perspective
that
allows
her
to
approach
complex
socio-economic,
managerial
and
spatial
issues
from
multiple
angles.
Her
research
was
dedicated
to
investigating
the
relationship
between
cities
and
sustainability,
developing
innovative
tools
and
methodologies
for
analyzing
urban
dynamics
and
supporting
local
and
regional
policy
agencies.
Karima
Kourtit
has
held
also
various
leadership
roles
in
international
research
projects
and
initiatives.

UAIC

the
fields
of
education
and

The
project
is
implemented
by
the
Alexandru
Ioan
Cuza
University
of
Iasi
and
managed
by
the
Centre
for
European
Studies
of
(CES),
within
Faculty
of
Law.
CES
is
an
interdisciplinary
department
within
UAIC
which
focuses
on
developing new academic and research programmes mainly in the field of regional studies.
