Specific CITY FOCUS objectives: SO1.   To   develop,   test   and   provide   a   theoretical   model   for   a   citizen-oriented   assessment   of   urban   vulnerabilities   and boosting transformation capacity for more livable and sustainable cities; SO2.   To   assess   urban   vulnerabilities,   resilience   performance   and   the   transformative   capacity   for   RO   cities,   including differences in access to various urban amenities and in capacity to develop sustainable and high-quality spaces SO3.    To    generate    a    shared    knowledge    base    using    urban    development    and    governance    indicators    (mixed-methods approach   and   innovative   AI-powered   Digital   Data   Warehouse   for   evidence-based   and   data-driven   decision-making   towards sustainable and resilient cities) SO4.   To   develop   an   operational   and   replicable   citizen-based   framework   and   smart   solutions   (approaches,   methods,   tools, policy   recommendations)   for   a   'responsive   city-organisation’   that   is   capable   to   transform   future   challenges   into   new   and robust resilience outcomes; SO5.   To   enhance   the   research   and   management   skills   of   the   UAIC   academics   and   administrative   staff;   with   a   wider contribution to the international competitiveness of the Romanian research; SO6.   To   implement   an   integrated   program   for   developing   the   research   skills   of   early-stage   researchers,   increasing   their involvement in international research groups and projects; SO7.   To   establish   a   robust   research   framework   at   the   hosting   university   for   promoting   an   integrative   and   interdisciplinary, place-sensitive, approach to urban studies.
CITY-FOCUS   is   an   innovative   and   transformative   project   that   aims   to   address   the   multifaceted   challenges   faced   by   modern cities   through   new   resilience-oriented   approaches   and   smart   cities   solutions.   CITY-FOCUS:   (i)   will   provide   a   new   and   replicable theoretical   framework   for   assessing   urban   vulnerabilities   and   transformation   capacity;   (ii)   will   offer   evidence-based   methods and   tools   for   urban   planning   that   promotes   sustainable   and   high-quality   urban   environments,   including   digital   and   smart   cities; (iii)   will   push   forward   the   hosting   university’   scientific   resources   and   will   enhance   the   team   members   ‘competences   beyond   the current conceptual, institutional and methodological horizons, with an impact on the research development in Romania.

MCID    -    DGGCPNRR    760277/26.03.2024,    project    financed    by    the    National    Recovery    and    Resilience    Plan    [Planul    Național    de Redresare   și   Reziliență],   PNRR-III-C9-2023   -   I8_round   2,   Component   C9.   Support   for   Private   Sector,   Research,   Development   and Innovation,   I8.   Development   of   a   program   for   attracting   highly   specialized   human   resources   from   abroad   in   research,   development and innovation activities. The   project   implementation   period   is   from   27th   of   March   2024   to   30th   of   June   2026.   The   total   value   of   the   project   is   5.713.644,00 lei,   of   which   the   PNRR   funding   amount   is   5.580.797,00   lei   and   the   VAT   amount   of   132.847,00   lei   corresponding   to   the   amount financed   by   PNRR,   ensured   from   the   budget   of   the   coordinator   of   reforms   and/or   investments,   in   accordance   with   the   legislation in force.
